Oral History

OCHS believes the stories of Oklahoma conservationists past can teach us important lessons for the conservationists of the future.

To that end, OCHS has partnered with Oklahoma State University through their Oral History Research Program to record interviews with Oklahoma conservationists. So far thirty seven oral histories have been completed with more planned for the future. Each oral history has a text transcript and a video of the interview available through the Oklahoma State University Libraries webpage and Youtube channel.

Highlights from the oral history collection

Nick Lambeth, a 1961 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU) with a degree in forestry, talks about his long career with the Soil Conservation Service.
